Greenville Fusion Festival
Back in April, I finally made it out to Greenville Fusion Festival. It was a great weekend full of a lot of new faces, beautiful dances, and long nights. I always love the chance to get to photograph spaces that are new to me. How do I choose to tell the story of a space I have never been in? What are the moments I choose to focus on, the faces I capture, the atmosphere of the event?
This event was particularly fun because of the extensive array of lighting. Each night there was a slightly different vibe, thanks to their amazing lighting engineer. Fusion has always loved its bright, vibrant bisexual lighting; Greenville brought a great mix to that array. Playing with more monotones, full reds and oranges, deeper, richer blues, and the vibrant green. In the moment I really didn’t like the green light, it was bright, strong, and a color that doesn’t generally make skin look good. But looking back at my galleries and the photos I’m pulled to the most. The selected green-toned photos have turned into some of my favorite photos.
While at the weekend I also got the chance to photograph the team members and give them a quick headshot session. Plus a fun dance session with Gracie & Matt while in Asheville North Carolina.
